Global Songbook – #2

Renewal, maturity and growth in faith, can it happen through song and music?
Marin Luther thought so. In 1524 he published a small booklet with eight
newly written texts till then well-known, popular melodies, a way to spread the ideas of the Reformation. The songs quickly became popular and psalm singing an important part of the Lutheran Church worldwide.
This year, Lutherska värdsförbundet pays tribute to the renewing power of music by publishing The Global Songbook 2024, psalms and liturgy from LWF's all regions. By singing the same songs, we hope to inspire dialogue, strengthen the community and clarify what it means to be a Lutheran church.
